Does AI work on all label types?
Yes. DLCScan recognizes standard industrial labels and in-store printed labels. AI is trained on French date formats (DD/MM/YYYY, DD.MM.YY, "Best before…", etc.).
How does the color code work (J0, J+2, green…)?
DLCScan automatically calculates the gap between today and the product's expiry date. Red: date passed — remove. Orange: expires today (J0). Yellow: expires tomorrow (J+1). Light green: J+2 to J+3 — watch closely. Green: J+4 and beyond — no immediate urgency.
What if the photo is poorly framed or blurry?
The app alerts you and offers quick manual correction. All AI-extracted data can be reviewed and edited before final validation.
Will my teams find it easy to use?
The interface is designed for in-store teams: color-coded ranges (red → green), quick actions and an "Expiry" page that surfaces urgent items first. Onboarding in under 10 minutes, no long training.
How does payment work?
On signup, everyone gets 10 free AI scans to try. Retailers: subscription at €29 excl. VAT per store per month (launch offer), up to 5,000 AI scans/month, no commitment — payment via the app (App Store / Google Play). Consumers: no subscription; buy a 100-scan pack for €4.99 incl. VAT in the app when needed. Credits never expire. If payment fails (pro), the account is blocked then reactivated once settled, with no data loss.
Can I use DLCScan for my home fridge?
Yes. In the app: 10 free scans, then you can buy a 100-scan AI pack (€4.99) with no monthly subscription. Handy for tracking dates on kitchen products.
Is my data secure?
Hosted in France, TLS encryption, GDPR-compliant. Your data stays yours and is exportable at any time.
Do I need a permanent connection?
For this v1, internet is required but we plan to add offline mode in a future version (except AI analysis).
